History
Hotel Palau Macelli is located at the heart of Castelló d’Empúries, next to Santa Maria’s Basilica, the old convent of Santa Clara and the city walls. Its central location allows our customers to access, on foot, the most highlighted historical and tourist areas of the town. 10 minutes away, we find Empuriabrava, a residential marina surrounded by an extensive network of artificial canals.
Our fourteen rooms located in a historical building from the 17th century are distributed around a delicate and romantic inner courtyard. The white colour of the walls and furniture of these Mediterranean rooms contrast with the greenery of the Palau Macelli large garden. The climbing plants cover the Basilica’s wall that faces de garden, the buttresses of which can be seen from the swimming pool, located on the third floor of the hotel. It is a cosy and relaxing pool with spectacular views of the Basilica, the Massís del Montgrí, the Serra de Rodes and the Wetlands National Park of L’Empordà. On a clear day, it is possible to glimpse the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
